Configuring your Illinois Wesleyan E-mail

In order to help prevent spam on the Internet, Illinois Wesleyan's e-mail system requires that mail sent from an @iwu.edu e-mail account be sent through an approved Illinois Wesleyan server. All mail sent from on-campus, or through the MyIWU portal, uses the SMTP e-mail server approved to send @iwu.edu. If you are trying to send a message using an @iwu.edu address from off campus, you will need to be sure that your e-mail application is set to use Illinois Wesleyan's e-mail server to send messages.

The following guides will help you correctly set up an e-mail program to send messages from your Illinois Wesleyan e-mail account whether on-campus or off-campus.

Sending Mail

Windows - Thunderbird 2.0,  and Eudora 7.0

Mac - Thunderbird 2.0, Eudora 6.23, and Apple Mail.app
