Ethernet and Wireless Network Connections
Illinois Wesleyan residence hall rooms are port per pillow, which means that each person in a room has their own telephone jack and computer network jack. Each jack is labeled for easy identification. A single cable TV outlet is also provided in every room.
How does my computer connect to the network?

Ethernet adapters and patch cords are available at most consumer electronic stores and are also available at Illinois Wesleyan University bookstore.
How do I connect to the Illinois Wesleyan Wireless network?
Note: Illinois Wesleyan University technology policy prohibits the use of wired or wireless hubs in residence halls to extend the existing campus network.
Wireless access is currently available in buildings such as the Ames Library and the Hansen Student Center, Buck Memorial Library, Center for Natural Science, and the Memorial Center. Portions of Evelyn Chapel and Stevenson Hall also have wireless networks. See our instructions for setting up your computer for campus wireless access for more information.
How do I check my e-mail account?
Illinois Wesleyan uses a web-based portal called MyIWU. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world and provides students access to:
| | Calendars | Course Schedules |
| IWU news | IWU events | Grades |
| Course Tools | Registration | Much More |
E-mail account information is provided to First Year Students in a summer mailing.
