Oct 15 : Program announced, applications available
Oct 24: IWU Open House 6-7pm Henning Room
Nov 2 @ 5pm : Deadline for applications from students and agencies
Nov 5-16: Interviews held at IWU, screenings for students done at State Farm, follow-up telephone interviews done with agencies
Nov 19 : Review date for all applications
Nov 26 : Target date for placements finalized at State Farm and in the community
Dec 3: Offers made to students and agencies
Dec 14: Deadline for acceptance
May 5: Program start date
May 5 – 16 : State Farm Training Program
May 7: First ARC Workshop (every Wed)
May 19: First week in the community
Aug 1: Program end date
* Students please note: You will not be able to take a May term course if you are selected to participate in this program
Hours:
Based on a full-time work schedule (38:45 hours/week) at a 60/40 split between State Farm and a not-for-profit organization
Wednesday will always be a day in the community
Action Research Center workshops will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 7pm in the community
Student Eligibility:
Current first-year students, sophomores and juniors are eligible
There is no minimum GPA requirement
All majors are welcome
Graduating seniors are not eligible
Students who participated in the program in the summer of 2007 are not eligible
Student Housing:
We are exploring our housing options for next summer. Campus housing was provided in the summer of 2007. It is not guaranteed that housing will be available during the summer of 2008.
Student Compensation:
Community Partnership Interns are compensated at $14.00/hour
Assignments:
Every attempt will be made to secure placements at State Farm departments and in the community at the time offers are made. The interns and their respective State Farm and community placements from summer 2007 are listed below:
