Admissions

Presser HallAdmissions Application

Overview

Students interested in admission to Illinois Wesleyan University must submit the following:

  • An application (U.S. citizens or students who hold a Permanent U.S. Resident Visa need to submit the Domestic Application, while all other students need to submit the International Application.)
  • Transcripts for all previous high school and college coursework
  • An ACT or SAT-I score
  • A Teacher Evaluation Form or a letter of recommendation from an academic teacher or guidance counselor

Illinois Wesleyan University is also a member of both the Common Application and the Universal College Application. Students who apply to IWU via the Common Application or the Universal College Application will receive the same consideration as students who submit the IWU Domestic or International Application.

Students are eligible to apply for admission once they have completed their junior year of high school and taken either the ACT or SAT-I. An overview of IWU's admissions criteria is available here. Students who are considering attending college after only three years of high school may apply, but should first contact a member of the Admissions Staff.

Illinois Wesleyan does not begin reviewing applications until after December 1, and will continue to review applications through April. The national decision deadline for high school students to choose a college is May 1. Although there is no application deadline at IWU, it is recommend that students apply before November 1. There is no fee to apply.
