Miles Bair has bachelor's and master's degrees from Edinboro University and a master's degree from West Virginia University. He served as an art department chairperson at two universities prior to coming to Illinois Wesleyan University as Director of the School of Art in 1979. Bair is a painter. He teaches foundation art, painting, and art theory. Recent exhibitions include: Mary Bell Galleries  in Chicago, Katie Gingrass Gallery in Milwaukee, and the Quincy Art Center. Bair was a featured artist at the Tokyo International Art Exposition. Miles collects Japanese wood block prints and paddles a kayak over calm waters.
