| Current events April 13: Dr. Jonathon Muraskas, Director of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship, Chairman of Medical School Admissions Committee and Professor of Pediatrics at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine will give a talk titled "Initiating and Enhancing the Medical School Application" at 12:00 in E103 in the Center for Natural Sciences as a portion of Bio 399's Brown Bag Seminar Series. This talk is sponsored by Tri-Beta. April 12th: Beta Beta Beta will be sponsoring a blood drive at the Hansen Student Center from 12-6 pm in partnership with the American Red Cross. | |||
| Previous events March 10th: Beta Beta Beta will held its 2007 Initiation Ceremony at the Miller Park Pavilion. February 16th: Tri-beta hosted Beth Hussa, an Illinois Wesleyan alumna and graduate student in microbiology at Loyola. She presented a talk titled "Microbiology, Immunology, and Squid?!? The Grad School Experience of an IWU Alum". February 8th: Beta Beta Beta sponsored a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. Applications for Tri-Beta are were due on Friday, February 9th. Anyone who is at least a second semester sophomore and has taken 2 biology classes can become a member. Click here to read the requirements for becoming a Tri-Beta member. November 14th: Beta Beta Beta sponsored a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. November 9th: Tri-Beta hosted a research seminar for students interested in hearing about how their classmates were able to secure summer research positions. The following upperclassmen spoke about their summer research, as well as how they got their position: Jason Somogyi, Kelly Feder, Sean DeGrande, Michelle Carrillo, Kristen Kopf and Bridget Wall. November 1st : Tri-Beta hosted 4 former IWU students who are currently first, second, third year residents or an attending physician in one of the Chicago hospitals. The former students were Dr. Shayla Garret-Hauser, Dr. Adam Tuite, Dr. Colleen Crowe and Dr. Dave Collins. We thank them for their participation. September 20: Tri-Beta held its annual BBQ for members of Tri-Beta, incoming biology majors and Biology Faculty in the Cabana. September 19th: Beta Beta Beta sponsored a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.
