Concert Building Use Policy

Evelyn Chapel: The Religious Life Center

•  No more than two externally-sponsored concerts, recitals or other musical special events may be booked in the Chapel in any given week (a week being Sunday through Saturday).  Such bookings are held for one dress rehearsal and one performance.  These bookings continue to be subject to the same rules availability and authorization as before.

• Once two community musical events are booked in a single week, no new incoming Concert/Space request forms may be considered for approval.  Those who generated the request are to be called and asked if they wish to consider another date, or simply to receive a letter of denial.  New date requests may be marked on the originally submitted Concert Request Form, and will be subject to the same rules of availability and authorization as before.

•  Only University space requests and concerts may be booked during:

               -Move-in Weekend                                   -Intercession Week (no concerts at all)

               -Family Weekend                                     -Baccalaureate/Commencement weekend

              -Homecoming Weekend                         -Lessons and Carols Service

• Any group booking a concert MUST also book a downstairs room from ½ hour before the concert start time to ½ hour after the concert end time.  This is for musician warm-up, and a secure space to lock possessions during the concert.  A warm-up space is to be booked for the concert, but is not available for the rehearsal.  The concert request form reflects this.  Groups need to be informed in the confirmation letter that they may not occupy rooms for any other than confirmed times and spaces.
