Intent to Student Teach
An intent to student teach application must be submitted to the Educational Studies Department Fall semester of your Junior year, by October 1st. (9th semester students submit the Fall semester prior to student teaching).
Instructions: Read the complete instructions prior to completing the forms. The Intent form, information form, and essay must be submitted by 4 p.m., October 1st.

Your essay will be read by potential cooperating teachers and will thus be your first introduction to your cooperating teacher. Therefore, consider the writing of it comparable to a job interview.
Acceptable essays address all three questions; have minimal errors in spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation; are well organized and written coherently; convey ideas clearly and succinctly; and are written for a teacher audience. Unacceptable essays will be returned for revision. |
