Admission Requirements
Most students will apply to the Teacher Education Program the spring of their Sophomore year.

Illinois Testing Requirements
Students are required to pass  the Basic Skills, Content Area, and Assessment of Professional Teaching (APT) Examinations. See testing requirements by major.

Technology Requirements
All candidates in the TEP are required to demonstrate proficiency in professional teaching, language arts, and technology standards. Educational Studies faculty incorporate technology education and related assignments in professional education courses. You must provide evidence of mastering technological standards in your senior portfolio. Additional assistance with IT skills can be obtained from the IT tutors (contact Rick Lindquist for hours) or through Element K tutorials (contact IT if you need password assistance).

Teaching Endorsements
Endorsements are available at the middle school and secondary level. They allow you to teach additional subjects. Please refer to the Teacher Education Program Handbook, or your advisor for specific endorsement requirements.
