Activities for Students in French & Francophone Studies at IWU

Students at all levels of the curriculum are encouraged to participate in the various activities that we sponsor. Please contact any French & Francophone Studies faculty member for further information.

Le Cercle français is a club that meets monthly and promotes cultural understanding and exploration.  Typical activities of Le Cercle include viewing of French and Francophone films, guest speakers, game nights, and the annual Mardi Gras party.  Food is always a part of the festivities!

La Table française is a weekly lunch-time gathering in the Dug Out during which students practice their speaking skills in French in a relaxed atmosphere.  It is organized by the French tutors.

Pi Delta Phi is the National French Honor Society.  The IWU chapter, Mu Tau, was established in 2000.  In addition to our annual initiation ceremony and reception, members of Pi Delta Phi often co-sponsor activities with Le Cercle français
