Sorority Recruitment

Women interested in participating in the Illinois Wesleyan University Sorority Recruitment process may register over the summer and fall.

Registration tables will also be set up at the stairs to the Bertholf Commons during lunch and dinner.

Cost of participating in Recruitment: $15 (this includes a Recruitment shirt)

There will be informational meetings to learn more about sorority life and the recruitment process in the residence halls and on campus. Please watch for more information about these dates and times. Women wishing to participate in Recruitment should plan on attending all events. Athletic events and other conflicts may be excused if the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is notified. Information about 'making-up' a missed event will be provided if necessary.

Come learn everything you need to know about IWU Sorority Recruitment!

This event is mandatory for all women going through recruitment. Information Night will be held in the Hansen Student Center beginning at 8:00 PM. At this meeting, you will receive your recruitment t-shirt, learn more details about the recruitment process and events, and meet your Gamma Chi's (recruitment counselors).

Women going through recruitment will visit all four sorority chapters.

Women will arrive at their Recruitment Group's meeting locations at 5:00 PM. Potential new members will visit each house for an hour beginning at 5:30 PM and concluding at 10:15 PM.

Dress is business casual for this event. It is important to wear comfortable shoes since you will be touring all 4 houses.

Potential new members will arrive at their Recruitment Groups' meeting locations at 5:30 PM. House visits will begin at 6:00 PM lasting an hour each and will conclude at 9:30 PM. Following the house visits women will indicate their attendance preferences for the next day.

Dress is casual for Philanthropy parties. Arts and crafts can get messy, so denim or khaki bottoms with a casual top will work best.

Women participating in recruitment will arrive at their Recruitment Groups' meeting location' at 5:30 PM. House visits will begin at 6:00 PM lasting an hour each and will conclude at 8:15 PM. Following the house visits women will make their final selections.

Dress is semi-formal for Preference Night. A cocktail dress or nice skirt outfit is suggested.

Women receiving Bids (invitations to join a sorority) will meet at 11:00 AM in the Memorial Center Main Lounge. Following Bid distribution, women will accompany their new sorority sisters to chapter homes for a day of fun activities.
