Professor of Hispanic Studies B.A. - University of Santiago de Compostela; M.A. - University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Ph.D. - University of California, Irvine Biography Dr. Carmela Ferradáns joined the faculty in 1992 and was the Department Chair from 2001 to 2007. In addition to language courses, she teaches Modern and Contemporary Spanish cultural history and literature. Dr. Ferradáns specializes in contemporary Spanish poetry with a strong interest in critical theory and cultural studies. She has given numerous presentations in the US and in Spain and has published papers on the poets Ana Rossetti, Fanny Rubio and Manuel Vázquez Montalbán among others. Her true passion is discovering how high and low art forms relate to each other. |
