Dataset:  ICPSR - Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research

Description:  ICPSR provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. It contains over 5400 studies comprising over 90,000 files. Search features provide robust access to datasets and identification of relevant studies.

Downloading assistance: 

IWU faculty, staff and students may download data directly after creating a user account.  ICPSR provides files in multiple formats, including SPSS portable and SPSS syntax versions.  If SPSS portable is available, choosing this will enable you to import the data file with minimal complications.  For data files accompanied by an SPSS syntax file, please see the following help file.  If you need further assistance, please contact Lynda Duke (x3220) or Kristin Vogel (x3576).  ICPSR provides tutorials on downloading and using datasets at http://www.icpsr.org/ICPSR/help/datausers/.
