ICPSR Direct is a service providing direct access to the ICPSR data holdings for all students, faculty, and staff at Illinois Wesleyan University. With ICPSR Direct, any user with a MyData account and an authorized IP address (or proxy) may download data from ICPSR, without going through a local campus representative.

To download data:

• Go to www.icpsr.org
• Search the website & data holdings for your desired dataset.
• Choose the "download" option of your desired dataset.
• The first time you try to download data you will be asked to create a MyData account. To do so fill in the required information, such as: your email, password, name, university affiliation and department. In addition you will be asked about which statistical package you prefer when downloading data from the ICPSR site.

Once you submit this information you may change any of the above information by going to the "Account Information" link.

To increase download times the files will be in a zipped format. If you need assistance un-zipping the files or locating datasets please contact Lynda Duke or Kristin Vogel.
