National Institutes of Health

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research.
Pan American Health Organization (WHO) The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is an international public health agency with 100 years of experience in working to improve health and living standards of the countries of the Americas.

Government web site for health resources, in Spanish.    
Office of Minority Health (CDC)  Reports on the health status of racial and ethnic minorities in the United States, and initiates strategic partnerships with governmental as well as national and regional organizations.

Office of Minority Health (Department of Health and Human Services)

Excellent source of information on such reports as the CDC Health Statistics, Breast Cancer Detection Rates, Statistics on Uninsured Children.    
State Health facts Online (Kaiser Family Foundation) Provides useful information under categories such as Minority Health, Health coverage/Uninsured.
US Census Bureau Fact Finder If you choose the PEOPLE link, you have access to statistical tables and summaries, in areas like Race and Ethnicity for the entire US, or you can change the geography (i.e. state), and access data for individual states.

American Association of Applied Linguistics National organization of scholars who are interested in and actively contribute to the multi-disciplinary field of applied linguistic.
