Scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database including peer-reviewed publications.
Contemporary Women's Issues 1992 to present - For health and human rights, Indexes books, journals, newsletters, research reports from non-profit groups, government and international agencies, and fact sheets.
Feminae: Medieval Women and Gender Index Indexes journal articles, book reviews, and essays in books about women, sexuality, and gender during the Middle Ages
In the First Person  Indexes more than 4,000 collections of oral history from around the world, including letters, diaries, oral histories, memoirs, and autobiographies. Note: some material in this database require a subscription and may not be available.
JSTOR Journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences with various articles relating to Women’s Studies.  This database has back issues up to the last 5-7 years.
MLA International Bibliography 1963 to present - An essential index to articles and essays on literature, languages, linguistics, and folklore.

Women's Studies Call Numbers Ranges:

HQ1101-HQ2030.9

Most materials about women are classified in their specific subject. For example, biographies of women scientists are in the Q's, while women's poetry collections are in the P's.

The Ames Library uses Library of Congress Classification. 

Women's Studies Subject Headings

Use these subject headings in to locate books in The Ames Library on Women's Studies:
     Women
     Feminism
     Working mothers
     Women's rights
     Women's studies
     Work and family
     Home labor

For narrower, more specific topics, there are several options. Use subheadings under "Women," for example:
     Women -- Suffrage
     Women -- Crimes against
     Women -- Employment

Use the term "Women" at the beginning of the heading, for example:
     Women entomologists
     Women supervisors

Check the Library of Congress Subject Headings books located in the Reference collection for more specific terms to search, such as:
