IWU offers a variety of programs in direct support of faculty work, including standard professional travel allotments, traditional research or artistic grants to individuals, curriculum development funding for individuals or groups, and course release and leave programs for both tenured and untenured faculty. This section of the Mellon Center site describes these programs in detail and provides access to application forms for all funding except standard professional travel. Faculty Travel Request Forms are available from department or school office coordinators or from the Mellon Center, 309-556-3760.
The Mellon Center also occasionally offers travel support for one or more faculty members to attend regional or national teaching conferences. As these opportunities become available, they will be linked to this page as well.
All IWU faculty are encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunities described here and to suggest other potentially useful programs to the Faculty Development Committee (FDC).
In 2008-09, FDC members are:
| Jason Moralee, Chair | Karen Schmidt |
| Will Jaeckle, Vice Chair | Michael Young |
| TBD | Frank Boyd, ex officio |
