EAST STREET APARTMENTS (ESA)

Acquired in 2006, the East Street Apartments (ESA) is comprised of six apartment units, each housing 2 students in single rooms.   The building is conveniently located at the northwest corner of East and Emerson Streets, one block from the Center for Natural Sciences.  Each apartment has a generously-sized living/dining space (14' x 21'), 2 single bedrooms (10' x 13') and a full kitchen, with full-sized appliances provided.  Each unit was fully renovated during Spring 2008, including window replacement, new cabinets and appliances, new carpet, fresh paint, and more efficient window and baseboard heating units.  Units are provided local phone service and a connection to the IWU's high-speed internet network.  Units are unfurnished.  There is coin-operated laundry provided on the premises.  Residents pay electric and water as well as a semesterly housing charge.  Students living at ESA are not required to take part in the IWU board plan, but may choose to do so.  Units are leased for 11 months, typically August 1 - June 30.

501 UNIVERSITY

Acquired in 2007, 501 University is a small house that provides single bedrooms and a common living area for 4 students.  The house is just across McLean Street from the Minor Myers Welcome Center, and one block from Presser Hall.  With 2 bedrooms, a living room, a full bathroom and a kitchen upstairs, as well as two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a living/study area, and a laundry room downstairs, this house is excellent for students who want more independence and privacy a short walk from campus.  The house is unfurnished.  Residents pay electric and water as well as a semesterly housing charge.  Students living at 501 University are not required to take part in the IWU board plan, but may choose to do so.  Units are leased for 11 months, typically August 1 - June 30.
