Joi Hoffsommer, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts, received her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  She has worked for many years as a professional actor.  For ten summers, she taught talented high school students from all over the country in acting, voice, and movement at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan.  She spent time as a visiting artist developing new work with the Metro Theatre Company in St. Louis and now divides her summers between the Summer Studio at the U of I, the Station Theatre in Urbana, and the occasional theatre gig in Chicago.  She teaches Acting for Non-Majors at Illinois Wesleyan
