Rubric-building; norming (GW) This two-hour session will compare how we evaluate (not respond to) student papers. We'll look at two sets of papers in small groups, score them, and reconvene as a group to discuss our evaluations. In the process we will also begin the process of building a rubric for Gateway papers. |

Science division: delivering writing intensive courses (WI) This 90-minute meeting (4:00-5:30) will focus on the requirements for writing intensive courses. I hope to have us all look collaboratively at existing courses and how they might be converted to WI status, and to have some faculty volunteer to discuss how they include the teaching of writing in their WI courses. |
